Janet Tours the UK 2005
CONCERT REVIEW
Brian Dempster: Ulster Jazz Events Ireland
(Organisers of the annual Holywood International Jazz Festival) writes:
The Aussie trio breezed into Belfast practically unnoticed, with the Seidel name recognisable only to a few previously unidentifiable jazz and vocal junkies. Yet within a few hours on stage, the delectably charming Janet with the equally enthralling and talented partnership of brother David (bass) and Chuck Morgan (guitar), had convinced the Holywood Festival audience that for years they had been missing out on a performance which in a one-word term could be described simply as 'scintillating'.
Compare the Seidel songstress to whom you will - be it Blossom Dearie, Peggy Lee or Doris Day. Ask yourself, is the music Lounge, Jazz or Popular? The answer may be a combination of all these personalities and genre. But in truth, Janet just sings the very best of songs... in the Seidel style.
The bottom line is crystal clear.
No longer is there a need to dwell in or seek inspiration from the past.
In Janet Seidel the current world of music is blessed with a 21st century vocal and jazz star.
For further confirmation try consulting the recently captivated and now truly devoted fans in Holywood and Northern Ireland!
CONCERT REVIEW
Richard Speed: Oxfordshire jazz Club
It was a real pleasure to have the Janet Seidel trio come & play for us at Carswell Golf & Country Club in Oxfordshire. Her live performance exceeded the promise of her CDs'. It is not that usual to have the joy of hearing such a good singer/pianist & we would urge the jazz inclined public to come out for a star quality evening & be reminded that Live Music can still be the tops. We must not forget the excellent accompaniment of her brother David Seidel on double bass & Chuck Morgan on guitar because they greatly added to the success of the evening.

Liz Rabbet of the Fleece Jazz Club Boxford
Janet Seidel came to the Boxford Fleece on 24th June, 2005 with David Seidel (bass) and Chuck Morgan (guitar). We had a sell-out audience of 90 and sold 36 of Janet's CDs - which tells you everything that you need to know about this fabulous lady and her superb band. An evening that we intend to repeat just as soon as she is back over here - hopefully during Autumn 2006.
CONCERT REVIEW
Robert McDowell, Linlithgow Jazz Club, Scotland
The Janet Seidel Trio presented a class act from start to finish, one of the most polished performances we have seen amongst all the top names we have hosted. The music and lyrics were sophisticated but accessible, often humorous, sometimes melancholic, sometimes hard driven, often rapturously melodic, but always impeccable. Great guitar, bass and piano work, plus the magic ingredient of Janet's voice and superb diction - guaranteed to woo audiences in any setting, small or large.

CONCERT REVIEW
Kathy Doust: Director of Music in Quiet Places Nottinghamshire writes:
The Janet Seidel Trio (JST) performed in 2005 in Nottinghamshire’s Music in Quiet Places festival, a season of eclectic performances from national and international audiences. The venue for JST was a regularly used theatre/music performance space in a former riding stables in the heart of the countryside – an unusual venue for this type of performance, probably more suited to a cabaret lounge-type location. However, it worked really well – the acoustics were good and the stage was set simply with black curtains and good lighting.
THE JST more than lived up to expectations. Janet’s smooth, silky voice and her delivery of all the wonderful lounge classics evoked all the classiness of the mid 20th century jazz lounges. Her seemingly effortless delivery was as smooth as silk: it melted the heart and warmed the soul. Her voice ‘slid’ gracefully from one song to the next with such elegance and charm. Favourites such as Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Lullaby of Birdland and, my favourite, The Trolley Song went down a storm with the audience.
Performing with her brother David Seidel and Chuck Morgan, the trio were very well received and undoubtedly one of the highlights of the festival. A stunning performance!
