Armidale was recently lucky enough to host this fantastic trio. If you want to hear jazz at its finest, this is it! From the moment she walked on stage, it was clear we were in for something really special. This lady is the embodiment of style, and yes, glamour. Her sublime vocals were sensitively supported by David Seidel on double bass, and Chuck Morgan on guitar and ukulele. There were many great solos, and it would have been wonderful to hear even more from David and Janet. It is rare to hear a singer with such exquisitely tuned pitch – more rare still to hear such a singer accompanying herself so brilliantly at the same time. Janet is also a consummate storyteller through song, taking us on a journey that was sheer joy from start to finish. If I had to sum up the evening in one word it would be – sensational!
